So - what is the plan?

OK - so we bought a toy hauler and don't plan on hauling any toys in it. . . . That leaves the obvious question of why? And what is the plan?
Julie has been working on laying out the entire camper in Inventor so we have both a detailed plan and visual guides to work from as well as allowing us to understand the trade offs and advantages to different options possible. So what follows is our current plan (plans do change so it will be interesting to see what this camper turns into when reality hits our plan!).
So - lets do a walk through of our fantasy camper!
You can look at the previous post to remember the layout.
Starting as you walk in the door - you are facing the kitchen with the back of the camper on your left and the bath room and bed room to your right.
On the left we can see just a sliver of the pantry that separates the space. Also on the left is an island with two stools where we will do our daily eating / work-space / anything that needs an actual table. The back side of the island has doors and storage.
On the back wall is the refrigerator and stove in the slide (same place as original stove and fridge). We are switching to a residential refrigerator and an apartment size stove (so we get real burners and an adult oven). Another addition is a window over the counter so we get extra light - adding a window will be interesting . . .
To the right is the existing sink (sorry - no faucet in the model yet!).
Next we move step into the camper and turn to our left to look towards the back of the camper to where the large ramp makes up the back of the camper . . . .
Once again we see the pantry on the left (tree art on the doors), the island, and the refrigerator and stove.
New to the view is the french doors and wall which will be built just in front of the ramp! This will allow us to open the ramp and use it as a deck while still being able to fully seal our camper by closing the french doors.
Next up is a similar view with the french doors open showing the deck and also a view of cabinets to the left in the kitchen.
OK - I think we have fully explored the kitchen space and views - lets move onto what is behind that pantry!
So - this is the view looking into the camper from the deck - as if the french doors and new wall didn't exist!
What we see is our seating / lounging area - which is affectionately called the "slouch couch".
The slouch couch is constructed of cushions made up of a queen size memory foam mattress, and serves as our main comfy resting area as well as auxiliary sleeping for guest use.
On the left bottom is some fake cabinetry which is really a TV on a swing up panel (so it swings up in front of the window when we want to watch TV or look at photos on the big screen).
Taking a couple of steps back we can see what it looks like from the deck.
The deck is about 8 feet square and will have railings and a permanent roof (it swings down for travel and stowed right next to the french door wall inside the camper (then is covered by the ramp when it is closed up). The ramp will be covered with an outdoor mat/carpet which will be fixed down so we don't have to stow it for travel.
The table and chairs will be fold-able so we can stow them separately.
Now moving onto the rest of the camper we get a view looking towards the hall that connects the kitchen to the bath room and bed room.
Before we leave the kitchen it should be noted that there is currently a plan for a dishwasher as well!
We are planning on fitting in a counter top dishwasher mounted under the sink (once again - sorry for the lack of faucet).
On the right we have the hall which is planned to have narrow shoe storage along the outside wall and bin storage above your head.
A quick view of the bathroom.
The bathroom remains largely the same. The plan is to replace the toilet with a nicer model, but the rest is decorating. On the left is the sink with new cabinets above it. The corner shower stays the same, and the storage to the right (with the water heater in the bottom) gets a new look but remains in the same place.
Finally we have the bedroom.
This view is without the wall between the bathroom and the bedroom (you are viewing from where the toilet would be!).
The bed is moved to the left to make room for a larger closet on the right (and new stairs with storage in them).
There is storage under the bed (as well as our upgraded electronics along with lithium batteries).
Looking at another view of the bedroom wraps up our tour.
Another fake view . . . this one is with the wall of the camper missing and looking back towards the hallway and bathroom. The hall is the door next to with window and the other sliding door leads to the bathroom.
It should be interesting to see what happens when plans meet reality!
