July Already? I think I have some catching up to do!

July 5, 2019

I have been delinquent with my postings lately, so time for an update.

The built in shelves on the back wall got finished up.  We are currently thinking that we might be using something like Danish Oil on the back walls and shelves.

The pantry now has fixed shelves, and actually has a back panel, I just don't happen to have a photo of that at the moment.

The lighting in the kitchen is coming along, these are some hanging lights from Menards with LED bulbs that are 12V with a standard bulb base.  So in this instance we were able to use standard components and get them wired into the standard 12v system so it will work without 120v AC being turned on.

I did end up mounting the fixture a bit odd though because the connection of the pipe to the top was not very firm, so I ended up drilling out the top and running the solid pipe through the regular base and screws into the ceiling.

We also took down the existing cabinet over the sink and created a newer taller cabinet.

Then we moved onto making space in the base cabinet for the dishwasher by moving the electrical panel around the corner to the end.  This was also a good time to rewire the panel a bit by removing the transfer switch we won't be using.

We built a panel on the end to hold the panel on the bottom, and space for all the control panels above.

Only one heat now comes out the end as well, the other one was moved around the front where it will come out under the dishwasher to heat the kitchen area more effectively.

Also installed was the new faucet (Amazon for only $80) - which is really cheap - but hope it works well enough because it is a good size!

The dishwasher is physically in, but after a couple of hours at Menards I am still not sure I have all the plumbing parts needed! So there is still some work to be done on the plumbing.  That will happen when I am up for some plumbing adventures again.

Finally we moved on to the peninsula and built out the frame and shelf supports (need to purchase some more 1/4" plywood to make the shelves).

And that I think is a sort of complete update to what we have been doing.
